Aneta Gumieniak

Projects Director

My interest for communicating through the written word led me to study journalism. Quickly, I dived into a wide range of communication formats and specialised in audiovisual production. Not until then did I realize the importance of overseeing the execution process from an initial concept to the final delivery. Over the years, I have been broadening my experience in project management, playing a hybrid role by coordinating teams while also being responsible for good client relationships. After exploring a diverse range of sectors, I settled on science and technology where I help bring communication one step closer to its intended audience. Since 2018, I have been growing with Scienseed and I currently run the Projects Department.

Melany León

Scicomm Project Manager

It was my interest to deepen in human biology and to be involved in helping people what led me to study a Biotechnology BSc, specialized in Health. Afterwards my curiosity took me to study a Marketing & Branding program and eventually I started working managing projects related to Medical Marketing and Pharmaceutical industry. At Scienseed, I use my management skills and my scientific understanding to ensure the clients’ needs are successfully fulfilled. What I enjoy most is to work as a team towards the spreading of Health and Science topics to the society, through communication and design.

Lucas Sánchez, PhD

Co-founder / Director

I have worked in a research laboratory, on the radio, in a newspaper and as a teacher of modern harmony and jazz. In this particular melting pot, I acquired diverse skills and a growing curiosity: to explore the possibilities that each format offers to communicate knowledge and innovation. That’s why I co-founded Scienseed with Guzmán. Currently, I’m the director of the company and I’m in charge of the Communication and Creativity Department.

Bruno Martin

Science Communicator

My background is in journalism, working as a science reporter for newspapers and specialist outlets, in English and in Spanish. Since my days as a Biology student, I have become convinced that research needs to be disseminated for the benefit, scrutiny and enjoyment of everyone outside the academic world. I’m especially interested in the social side of science and the way it’s represented in the press, both subjects I explored while taking an MSc in Science Communication. At Scienseed, I’m applying my experience in media relations and exploring new ways of communicating expert knowledge.

Kira Keini

Project Manager & Strategist

It was my passion for writing that first steered me towards studying communication at university. Quickly I realised how much power communication actually has in affecting how people feel and think about the world around them. This revelation made me want to use my skills in advancing the use of research-based information in society. I started to work in science communication alongside my studies and also focused both my Bachelor’s and Master’s theses around the topic. I have years of experience from working as a communications consultant and project manager in projects dealing with the communication of science and expert knowledge. At Scienseed I’m applying my skills in strategic communication in making sure that scientific and expert information is available to the right audiences at the right time in the right places.

Joana Branco

Science Communicator

My little brother asked me if I was going to be an astronaut—believe me, I tried. I told him for now I had more important things to do. And in a way, I do. I could have dedicated my career to producing science—I’m a primatologist by training—but I decided to write about science instead. Helping people understand complex scientific information means I also get to learn something new every day. Bingo! Nothing can top that. At Scienseed I use my love for both writing and science to explore multiple communication formats and reach different audiences.

Marta Cortés

Science Communicator

I am passionate about creative communication because I see it as a tool for social change. That’s why I studied communication at university and then I specialised in narrative and scriptwriting, working along with several communication agencies. My interest in science and nature came to me in recent years, when I realised the impact that science has on present and future society. And thus, I started thinking about creative ideas, developing communication strategies and writing stories about science. A learning that has led me to Scienseed, where I bring a creative perspective to scientific communication.

Nerea Felices

Science Communicator

I wanted to do science communication since I started my BSc in Biomedicine. However, I wasn’t brave enough to act on it until I started an internship in Scienseed during my MSc. I learnt a lot during that stay, and enjoyed it so much, that I turned around my career path and focused on it. After strengthening my communication skills through courses and seminars, I was lucky enough to land on Scienseed again, now for the long ride. Using my knowledge to help people understand science and innovations gives me a real sense of achievement, both personally and professionally.

Nuria Chamorro

Junior Science Communicator

I have always been passionate about science and, at the same time, I love art and writing. So, after studying biotechnology at university, I found in science dissemination an opportunity to combine my passions. That’s why I took a master’s degree in Science Journalism and Communication, thanks to which I was able to train in different communication companies. Soon I realized that science communication is not only valuable for society, but also for its professionals, it’s a way to never stop learning! Currently, at Scienseed, I use my skills to disseminate scientific knowledge to different audiences and in multiple formats.

Clara Prieto

Art Director

Focusing my career on infographics and scientific illustration since day one has led me to work as an information designer for newspapers, organisations and universities around the globe. I’ve combined this with my experience in the field learning first-hand about my second passion: ecology. I’m currently the art director of Scienseed and I have a particular focus on conservation and environment-related projects.

Irene Zapardiel

Motion Grapher

I’ve worked as an animator for several short pieces, corporate and social media videos. My background in design allows me to be versatile and enjoy not only animation but also 2D & 3D design and illustration. I love exploring new techniques and styles while finding the right fit for every project. At Scienseed, I’m applying my skills to find the best way to portray information in an appealing and accessible way.

Elena Contel

Graphic Designer

As a creative student of Biotechnology, I always enjoyed summarising and making schemes from scientific concepts to make them more visual and memorable. I then decided to combine my scientific background with my love for drawing through a Masters program in Scientific Illustration. At Scienseed, I apply my unique skills to different formats such as web design, infographics and illustration. This allows me to express complex information in an accessible way, which is, after all, my passion!

Ari Gea

Graphic Designer

I’ve always been fascinated by science and art. I began studying art, learning many different techniques using both digital and traditional tools: from etching and watercolour to 3D modelling. After my years at University, I realised that my passion was to combine all these art techniques with science communication, making science more accesible this way. This is why I ended up specialising in Science Illustration and Graphic Design, always keeping my interest in learning new formats and tools that can help communicate science.
