Think Outside the Box

A print-based campaign to protect our amphibians!

Are we aware of the impact of pet trading? Is everything under control with animal models in our research laboratories? In the last few years, amphibian and reptile populations in Europe have been decimated by fungus species like Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans, Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis or Ophidiomyces ophiodiicola. These fungi come as silent companions of pets or lab animals.

The Bern Convention hired us to raise awareness about this huge problem among pet owners, researchers and the public at large. That was the beginning of Think Outside the Box. As part of this campaign, we designed impacting posters with realistic illustrations of caged pets in perfect condition placed in deteriorating wild areas. These posters were distributed and placed in many different science museums and research laboratories. Also, we brought the illustrations to life as interactive content for the campaign website!
